At Educate Ya, we teach the beautiful language through the Communicative Method, which aims to develop all the communicative abilities of the students in the language they are studying.
Italian is one of the official languages of the European Union. In addition to Italy, it is the official language of Switzerland, San Marino, Vatican City, Malta, and some areas of Croatia and Slovenia. It is also among the top five most studied languages in the world, and more than two million people decide to learn it every year for different reasons.
For example, learning this language offers the possibility of studying at prestigious Italian universities and high-level research and innovation centers, especially in the areas of art, design, engineering, science, and humanities.
Thus, the study of this language allows us not only to approach incomparable creations of art and culture in the fields of painting, sculpture, architecture, literature, cinema, and music but also to discover a rich and varied gastronomy appreciated anywhere in the world, and to get to know the fascinating world of fashion and design known as Made in Italy.
At Educate Ya, we teach the beautiful language through the Communicative Method, which aims to develop all the communicative abilities of the students in the language they are studying. During the instructive process, we study with authentic texts, recordings, and materials and carry out activities that accurately imitate the reality of native speakers. We teach with real-life situations to which students must respond.
Vision
âIn 2000, Rafael Arellano-Barrera founded the organization in response to a lack of Latinxs in leadership and managerial roles. His vision was to create an organization that would educate Latinxs on how to navigate the western system in order to achieve better jobs and health care, helping them to eventually become leaders in the American Society.â
Mission
The mission of Edúcate Ya is to facilitate multi-cultural exchange and address the integration challenges faced by Latinxs in Oregon through bilingual health, leadership, and education programs.
English/Spanish Intercambio
Our Intercambio program provides an opportunity for native English speakers to teach English as a second language to Latinos while improving their own Spanish speaking skills. Each volunteer commits to 2 hours a week for 6 months and attends a 3-hour training prior to beginning teaching.
ESL classes are taught one-to-one for 90 minutes, then volunteers practice their Spanish with students for 30 minutes. In addition to providing the language service, Intercambio reinforces our efforts to stay connected to our current Latino clients, their friends and families, the organizations that work with Latinos, and our partner organizations.
Whether you want to study a new language for new business opportunities, personal reasons or even for ease of travel, our foreign language program is the perfect option for you!
Italian language course is offered by World Language Schools. Diversity and inclusion is mainly about communication in English and other languages.
Italian classes are offered to students from beginner to Intermediate to Advanced level by professional and experienced instructors.
We offer Italian classes in Boston (no classes in Cambridge at the moment). Whereas it isn't required that you speak Spanish to take our Italian classes, it doesn't hurt!
Textbooks and computer programs never warn you that to this day all Italians speak at least two languages: Italian, e un dialetto (a local dialect).
