ITIL (The IT Infrastructure Library) is essentially a series of documents that are used to aid the implementation of a life cycle framework for IT Service Management. ITIL is organized into a series of five volumes (the books): Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operation, and Continual Service Improvement.
