Emphasis will be placed on conversational skills based on various situations and the use of Japanese in practical everyday communication. While the focus of the course is on the standard usage of the Japanese language, both casual and polite forms will also be discussed.
At the end of this course students will be able to:
Read and understand typical expressions and sentences written in hiragana, katakana, and basic kanji
Listen and speak about topics regularly encountered in daily life and classroom situations, and is able to pick up necessary information from short conversations spoken slowly
Attempt the widely recognised Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), N5 Level
