We encourage students to further their dance education and work towards a teachers diploma whereby they can make a successful career out of their talent and training. We teach from 3 year olds upwards.
We participate in Exams, Competitions, Shows, Corporate functions, etc. All this helps the pupil to gain confidence and strength within themselves. They learn discipline, respect for peers and teachers.
They learn to work & achieve for themselves, and they learn to use their mistakes and disappointments to help improve themselves. They always pick themselves up. Their minds are stimulated as well as their bodies worked and toned and stretched. They learn to go beyond their comfort zones.
Dance Direction International is a well–respected and long-established Dance Studio formed by Des van der Spuy and Debby Tomlinson.
Des van der Spuy has been teaching since 1980 and was joined by Debby Tomlinson in early 1990. Debby moved to London, Surrey in 1996 to open a branch there and hence Dance Direction International was formed.
We strive to balance technique and performance in our learners. To obtain this we offer examination classes and open classes in disciplines of:
Modern Jazz a vibrant and exciting dance form that uses different techniques like stretching, contractions, turns, isolation, jumps, leaps and progression floor work.
Jazz Dance Lessons are offered by M.E. Dance Academy for all youth. Jazz classes available at 10am every Saturday, we also have private sessions available.
Jazz Dance Course Is Offered By Five6seven8 Dance Studio
Jazz Technique Course is offered by Byron Bure Academy of Theatre Arts.
Jazz is athletic and sexy, it’s full of energy and grit, it’s sweaty and exhausting, from the sassiness of Fosse to the strength of A Chorus Line. A great jazz dancer owns their dancing with power, technique, confidence and style.
