Jazz dance is commonly taught in dance schools and performed by dance companies around the world. It continues to be an essential element of musical theatre choreography, where it may be interwoven with other dance styles as appropriate for a particular show.

Jazz classes are offered by The Dance Theatre Performing Arts. An exploration of the various styles of jazz dancing from lyrical to hip-hop, funk and the blues.
Through body isolations, timing, technique, and co-ordination, dancers will learn from both the new and traditional jazz genre
A class designed for students with limited motor skill development, high functioning autism, down syndrome, Aspergers, coordination difficulties, or limited range of motion. Dancers will learn patterning, rhythm exercises and coordination, while working at their own pace
Our jazz classes combine technique and style. An emphasis will be placed on proper alignment during steps; body conditioning, flexibility, and quick thinking are all thrown into the mix. Steps are combined in traveling combinations across the room and centre floor.
