Celebrating our 46th anniversary during the 2021-2022 season, The Dance Refinery takes pride in refining the artistic talents of each of our students. Children and young adults are taught to value team work as well as personal self-expression and growth in all of our classes.
Our studio is known for its experienced teachers who truly care for their students and want to see them succeed, not only as performers but also as individuals.
To help ensure our students’ success and keep our studio running smoothly, we provide a parent/student handbook that familiarizes each of our families with our policies and procedures. We also use social media and publish a monthly newsletter to make our most up-to-date information readily available to all of our families.
Calling all dancers, used-to-be dancers, and wannabe dancers! Pas de bourree your way to a one-hour jazz jam, including a classic warm up (isolations!), progressions & combos (pivot turn, jazz square!), and a cool down (no splits required!).
Class begins with a structured, progressive warm-up that emphasizes technique and flexibility. Following warm-up, class moves into choreography that is dynamic and energized - be prepared to get moving, and to let that tension go!
Defining characteristics of jazz dancing include improvisation, isolation, and the style of Broadway. For beginner dancers, we teach in a Musical Theater format which incorporates musicality, a strong sense of rhythm, and basic jazz technique.
Hollywood Studio of Dance (HSD) offers high quality dance education, to students of all ages, through a wide variety of dance classes.
Jazz Dance Classes are offered by Kathy Marfin's Dance School. An upbeat technique class focusing on leaps, turns, traveling and transitions steps. *Ballet class will improve the development of the skills in this class.
