This course is designed to introduce you to a variety of technical processes, design concepts, and tools essential for understanding and working with non-ferrous metals on a wearable scale.
Attention will be given to material sourcing, the production and critique of metalwork, and the cultural and historical aspects of jewelry as artistic expression. Some basic techniques that will be covered include sawing, filing, riveting, simple forming, hammer texture, soldering, and finishing.

Explore the possibilities of self-expression in jewelry by making a riveted ring. This one-week intensive will cover the necessary knowledge of non-ferrous metal and basic fabrication techniques such as cutting, drilling, filing, riveting and more (excluding heat work).
The class offers complete instruction – we assist with the design process, fabrication process, choice of metals, different polishes such as a brushed finish, or hammered finish or high polish, and potential for having stones set in the ring (additional) if desired.
