Our Summer Sewing Camp is for kids ages 8+ and takes place Mondays through Fridays from 8:30am - 11:30am each day. Each week allows up to 6 students with 2 instructors or up to 4 students with 1 instructor.
DurationOur Summer Sewing Camp is for kids ages 8+ and takes place Mondays through Fridays from 8:30am - 11:30am each day. Each week allows up to 6 students with 2 instructors or up to 4 students with 1 instructor.
Each student will be able to select a large project to work on for each week they are in camp. Options for large projects are (see photos for some below:
• lap blanket
• decorative stuffed pillow
• pillowcase for a bed pillow
• elastic waist skirt
• apron
• zipper pouch
• drawstring backpack
• tote bag
• stuffed animal
• laundry bag
• elastic waist shorts/pajama shorts
• quilt (this project requires two weeks of camp and prior sewing machine experience which can be learned on one of the above projects)

This beginner sewing class is an entry level class. Students will learn any of the following projects a pin cushion, a mask, a pillow, a tote bag, a cosmetic case, pull-on shorts , or pull on pajama bottoms – one project a session / week.

During this course, students will be introduced to sewing equipment, tools, threads, needles and sewing trims. They will learn all the basic techniques for hand sewing, machine sewing, stitches and seam finishes, and become familiar with a professional vocabulary for sewing terms and definitions.

In this adult sewing class we will go over using a sewing machine including how to thread it, which types of threads, needles, fabric, etc. to buy and everything else to get you started.
