This is an afternoon class for the child ten and up. The student will learn how to operate a sewing machine, read a pattern and construct simple garments. Students progress at their own speed and proudly wear home their creations.
Sewing Kits (additional fee) are required for new students. All 4 classes must be taken in the same calendar month.

All sewing will be done in class on machines provided. They can use their own machine if it is not a toy!
Missed classes can not be made up. Refunds are not available after registration is complete. Tuition and registration fees are required to secure a seat in class.

In this workshop, you'll start by making one small block using Foundation Paper Piecing. Then you'll repeat that block three more times and join them all together at the end! All materials will be provided for you.
Sewing techniques include: installing zippers, hemming pants, pockets, Hong Kong seams, how to sew a sleeve (set a sleeve) using different textiles, and much more!
Join us in-person to make pillowcases for veterans that are part of the Road Home Program at Rush Hospital. The Road Home is dedicated to the mental health and wellness of veterans, service members, members of the National Guard, reservists and families.
In the Children’s Sewing Class, beginning and intermediate students will learn how to use their machine, take measurements , lay out and cut fabric, read a pattern, understand the pattern directions, finish seams and learn sewing techniques. Students will advance at their own pace.
