A Living and Learning Community
The King’s experience spills into every aspect of life on and off campus.
You’ll be part of a small and extraordinary living and learning academic community in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
You can study renowned interdisciplinary programs in the humanities and journalism.
You’ll have a unique home where students, faculty, alumni and staff try to bring greater understanding, creativity and compassion to the world.
A Unique Education in Canada
Learn differently.
Unlike other institutions, King’s doesn’t separate subjects into disciplines. Instead, your unique interdisciplinary focus looks at the ways these subjects interact and overlap. Here, you get a higher education built on an immersive way of learning.
The emphasis is on analyzing student stories in workshops, but lectures and writing exercises may also be included.
Our Writing Workshop course is a workshop-style masterclass that helps you quickly and efficiently improve and perfect your short stories and novel chapters through live, in-person support.
Students should improve their writing skills throughout the course
If you're just getting started as a writer and haven't yet decided on a literary direction, this course gives you the opportunity to try a number of different genres.
In this course, students will develop skills in writing scripts for various media
