About
Starlight Knitting Society is a full service knit and crochet shop in Portland's deep Southeast neighborhoods. We sit at the crux of Woodstock, Brentwood-Darlington, Foster-Powell, Reed, Eastmoreland, Mt. Scott, Ardenwald and Creston-Kenilworth. We provide a cozy space for our community to come together over yarn while providing some of the best customer service around.
We strive to be a safe, open and inclusive space. We do not tolerate exclusionary behavior from our staff, vendors or customers. Questions? Please reach out.
Opened by former Lint owner, Melissa Nelson, Starlight is the next generation knit shop. We are excited about sharing this sweet yarn shop with you!
One of Juli’s favorite things in the quilting world is to teach others to perfect their skills. Juli is available for private in-studio lessons or teaching a group at your church, temple, guild, or community center. All you need is the desire and your imagination.
We have scheduled time to help you with all your knitting quagmires and queries. Bring your projects with questions, dropped stitches or anything you need extra help with and our expert instructors will help you out.
Join us and learn new knitting techniques! In this class we'll focus on learning two-color Brioche using the Brioche My Heart pattern from Knit Graffiti Designs.
This advanced studio course provides students with the opportunity to fabricate garments in women’s activewear, beachwear, separates and coordinates, based on patterns developed in corresponding pattern making course.
Adults who want to learn to knit can sign up for a single class or an ongoing session of four 1.5 hour classes. All materials are provided, or you're welcome to bring your own pattern, needles and yarn. Learn to cast on and make a simple scarf or hat. No experience is necessary!
