What will I learn?
Content includes:
Knitting materials: Needles and wool
Needle positioning
Tying a slip knot and casting on
Knitting techniques: Rows, row counting and stitches
Adding in new colours / different wool
Purling
Casting off and neatening up
Patterns
You may bring your own wool and needles but 6mm knitting needles, wool and hand-outs will be provided.

Using modern machines and equipment, patchwork and quilting has never been so easy. We will cover various techniques which will be ideal for those who have never tried piecing or quilting before. These blocks can be used to make a bag, a cushion cover, or we can really go for it and plan a quilt.
Beginners CrochetIn this course, we will teach you the most commonly used crochet stitches, show you how to begin and finish a piece of crochet and talk about colour choices of yarns. You will learn how to read a crochet pattern, how to make granny squares.
We’re not only dedicated to the conservation of our textile machines, but also to the preservation of the skills required to operate them. We offer several ways of helping you acquire these traditional skills.
We are very lucky to offer Knitting and Crochet classes in our Studio run by Made in Winchester, this lovely business is owned by the very talented Rebecca Miles.
Utilizing your knit, purl, and cast-on skills, you’ll be able to learn how to make these snuggly socks (although in class you will make a scaled-down version) learn how to knit the gusset, shape the heel and toe, and finally cast-off with Kitchener stitch.
