At StitchSpace we allow you to schedule your classes one at a time, but we recommend students sign up for a series of 2-4 classes. In this series of courses you will learn the skills needed to make your own scarves, hats, bags and dishcloths to name a few. Knitters of all levels welcome.
If you are a beginner, in class one you will learn how to cast on and form the knit stitch (garter stitch) and how to cast off.
In class two you will learn the purl stitch and if time permits the stockinette stitch. Class three will be about increasing and decreasing. In class four we can begin working on a knitting project of your choice using the skills we’ve learned in the previous classes.
Along with instruction from our knitting teacher Carly Chubak, beginners will receive practice yarn to continue working on their skills at their leisure. Starter needles will be available for $5 or you are welcome to bring your own.

Know Your Knits 101 is a two-part series so that we can explore and practice sewing different kinds of knits (there are SEW many!). Choosing a simple pair of leggings, lounge pants/shorts or skirt lets us focus on technique and fit without feeling rushed.
This class is for students who already know how to cast on, the knit and purl stitch and knitting in the round, but would like to advance to making their first sweater in the round!
In this two-part class, students will learn how to cast on, work in-the-round AND flat, increase, decrease, turning heels, kitchener stitch, and best practices for felting in the washer.
This workshop teaches all the basics of patchwork quilting from piecing the top to assembling the layers and binding all in one afternoon. Some basic sewing experience required; if you've never sewn before you'll want to take an Intro to Sewing Machine workshop first.
