Korean language and cultural education for all Coloradans. The Korean Academy of Colorado is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing an encouraging environment to learn, discover, and experience the Korean language and its rich culture.
We have children and adults, Koreans and non-Koreans, recent immigrants, adoptees, and many others studying the language of Korea, its history and culture at our school. We are not affiliated with any church or other religious institution. For over 20 years, we have welcomed all Coloradans to be a part of our school community.
We have about 180 students learning the Korean language and culture under the guidance of amazing teachers and many teachers’ assistants. Our students also have the opportunity to learn art, acting, origami, sports, modern music and dance.
They also participate in various festivals and contests organized by the statewide Korean schools association. We have two semesters, spring and fall, each about 15 weeks. Our goal is to help you discover the rich tapestry of Korean language and culture. Come join us. Let's learn Korean!
NYC Korean School Adult Program curriculum is designed to introduce students to Korean Language and Culture in a learner-friendly environment. Feel confident about communicating in everyday situations with authentic situation activities!
Continued development of basic skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing within a cultural framework. Prerequisite: KORE 1311 or equivalent based on placement exam score or instructor consent required.
The Korean program offers you great opportunity to acquire skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Language instruction is proficiency-oriented and imparts cultural experiences and knowledge.
The basic approach of our program is to emphasize the use of practical spoken Korean. For this reason, from the first day, speaking and listening are practiced at natural speeds. Artificially slowing the speed actually makes understanding more difficult in the long run.
Our tailor-made Korean classes can take place any day, even weekends, in the morning, afternoon or evening.
