Course Details

Gain practical speaking, reading and writing skills in Korean. Perfect for those with no knowledge of Korean, this beginner course covers basic vocabulary and grammatical structures, and the Korean alphabet, Hangul.  

Learn about culture and everyday life in modern Korea as you practise conversation in pairs and small groups. Understand grammar and build your vocabulary with the help of lectures, audio recordings and videos.    

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:  

  • greet and introduce yourself  
  • describe another person 
  • ask and answer what/who(se)/where is this 
  • exchange telephone numbers 
  • speak about daily life 
  • express something that one is good/bad at 
  • ask about the location of something or someone  
  • count 
  • read and write the Korean alphabet, Hangul 

 

How am I Assessed?

This is a non-credit course without letter or numerical grades. You receive verbal feedback on your conversation and grammar skills from your instructor during class. Written homework is typically corrected in class. Some lesson modules may include quizzes.
