The School of Modern Languages’ Korean program was launched in Fall 2002, and now offers a minor program, provides first through fourth-year level language instructions, serves more than 300 students annually, and is on track to become one of the largest Korean programs in the Southeast.
The School of Modern Languages’ Korean program was launched in Fall 2002, and now offers a minor program, provides first through fourth-year level language instructions, serves more than 300 students annually, and is on track to become one of the largest Korean programs in the Southeast.
Courses are available for both heritage and non-heritage students, and online courses are available at the first and second-year level.
Upper-level course offerings include a number of content courses, such as Business Korean; Exploring Modern Korea; and Issues and Technology in Korea.

The city of Atlanta has a Korean population of over 100K, and more than 180 Korean companies have a presence in the Southeast, providing a number of local and regional opportunities for student internships and involvement in the local Korean-American community.
The School of Modern Languages is actively engaged in developing and expanding these opportunities for students.
The Korean program also offers a faculty-led summer study abroad program every year (additional details below) and Georgia Tech has a number of exchange programs and international internship opportunities in Korea.
Add it all up, and Georgia Tech provides a number of ways for students to expand their Korean language proficiency and intercultural competence.

Language Door’s expert teachers offer instruction for students of all ages. We keep our tuition prices low but offer quality instruction in a pleasant environment. Our class size is always a small group.
All courses are designed to develop or improve the four language skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing. In addition, the program provides students with Korean cultural components by viewing authentic Korean audio-visual materials, creating and presenting their own skits.
The Orange County Lingual Institute is the premier Korean language school in Orange County, offering Costa Mesa Korean classes for all levels of Orange County Korean students. The levels of classes scheduled reflect our current students’ needs and the anticipated requirements of new students.
WWL offers face to face and remote language courses. Language research tells us that no matter the age, all of us learn our second (or third or fourth!) language the same way we learn our first language.
