How is the course delivered and assessed?
Work-based learning is delivered as a partnership between learner, employers and SGS College. Allowing learners the opportunity to study within the workplace enables learners to apply professional knowledge, skills and behaviours to course outcomes.
Your course is delivered by a competent assessor on a one-to-one basis, and you are required to have contact with your Assessor at least once a month as a minimum. Visits are arranged to be flexible to suit the needs of the learner in the workplace, or within the College setting if you prefer.
Contact can also consist of online meetings, telephone, and email, as well as through an online portfolio, where you will build a portfolio of evidence; this will be achieved through a variety of methods, including assessor observations where you will be observed working with adults in your natural working environment and will show your understanding of the role, as well as validating your competence in the role.
Other methods of building your portfolio include discussions, written questions and testimonials, which are planned and agreed with your Assessor.
