The Language and Literacies Education program is offered by the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), leading to the Master of Arts (MA), Master of Education (MEd), and Doctor of Philosophy degrees.

This course will provide students with an understanding of the learning processes for literacy, numeracy, and science as they are presented in the Alberta Program of Studies.
Topics covered may include: foundational basic math skills, vocabulary, problem-solving, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and money math.
The Workplace Training Program offers several sector specific training programs.
Research-based theories of literacy development are explored, with particular attention to their application to learning in classrooms and in families.
