Leader As Coach (An Introduction To Coaching Fundamentals)

Individuals and organisations are constantly challenged to deal with the changing demands of both internal business drivers and external variables. We are living in and through a crisis and leaders are needing to respond differently than the known ways of engagement.

Coaching as a Leadership style remains core to communication processes that necessitate ownership, accountability, motivation, and functional and behavioural excellence.

This short course is focused on ‘self’ to bring awareness to the student on how they are experiencing the theory and practice. The course will help you see through multiple perspectives, to critically investigate phenomena that presents itself, to discern, and to wisely choose attitude, approach and action for the good of all.

The short course explores the fundamentals of coaching skills, competencies, frameworks, models and tools through theoretical presentation, group discussions, practical coaching exercises and reflective processes.

• Explain approaches to adult learning theory and its application to coaching.
• Describe coaching and its differentiation from other methodologies.
• Explain the practicalities and process of a coaching programme.
• Apply basic coaching skills and competencies through practice and reflection.
• Have a foundational understanding of the Integral Framework.
• Outline and utilise the Integral Quadrant Map as an awareness exercise.
