Leadership and Management (HNC / HND Level 4 & Level 5 (HTQ))

The units within the HNC /HND Leadership and Management give students the opportunity to gain knowledge, skills and behaviours aligned to the Occupational Standard (OS) for Operations or Departmental Manager.

The awarding body has worked closely with The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA); The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM); and The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) in developing this programme.

Students will be able to develop and apply their own ideas to their studies, to deal with uncertainty and complexity, to explore solutions, demonstrate critical evaluation and use both theory and practice in a wide range of business situations.

By the end of Level 5, students will have a sound understanding of the principles of leadership and management and will know how to apply those principles more widely in the business world.

What qualification will I gain?

• Those who complete the course will be awarded the Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC) and Level 5 (HND) Higher National Diploma (HND) in Leadership and Management for England

• Subjects covered in the HNC / HND Leadership and Management course include Marketing Processes and Planning, Leadership and Management, Accounting Principles, Digital Business in Practice, Managing and Leading Change and Business Strategy, to name a few.
• Studied full-time over two years. The timetable for September 2024 entry is yet to be confirmed but will be communicated when available with those who express interest.

Assessment methods

• Assessment takes place using a variety of methods including; assignments, presentations, projects, and case studies. All students will receive regular feedback on their work and progress from their tutors. The qualification will be graded at pass, merit and distinction.

Entry requirements

• We expect those studying this HTQ to ensure they have a Level 3 if studying Level 4, and Level 4 if studying a Level 5, in a related subject, as well as GCSE maths and English at a Grade C/4 or above. We welcome interest from mature students who may not have the formal qualifications expected, but a wealth of experience in a related subject.
