This course concentrates on the leadership skills needed by first-line supervisors, with practical applications taken from common supervisory situations. The focus will be on developing skills relating to leadership.
These skills will deal primarily with the interaction between a supervisor and subordinate, including appraising, motivating, disciplining and conflict resolution.
Another key focus will be on the practical application of communication and coaching. An integral part of this course is the personal leadership development plan that each student will prepare in conjunction with a coach.
