LSF participants explore community trusteeship, defined as the ambition to work for the common good and serve the primary needs of others by holding their community in trust.
Becoming a community trustee is less a specific skill to be mastered than the acceptance and active pursuit of a new way of interacting with the community. It means purposely seeking a wider span of awareness.
Established in 1985, Leadership San Francisco is a community service program operated as a nonprofit affiliate of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce.
Each year, approximately 60 future community leaders are selected to participate in LSF's 10-month program. Participants are challenged to increase their understanding of the environment in which they live and work.
And to learn how to respond effectively to community issues. They are part of a unique network of concerned citizens, taking an active role in influencing quality of life in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Though you are already connected in the community, you will discover your Essential classmates are just outside your current circles of influence. However, they will become your best collaborators, advisers, supporters, and community resources.
Our leadership strategy training program is designed to help participants improve their strategic leadership skills to achieve goals, drive performance, and align short-term action with long-term direction.
