Course Details

Lean Six Sigma is a methodology that combines the two processes most associated with business performance improvement – Lean and Six Sigma. It is an effective strategy for resolving issues and problems.

This approach draws from both traditional strategies of process improvement known as lean and the focused analytical approach referred to as six sigma, and can significantly improve company performance by addressing problems in a uniform and efficient manner.

The Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification is a beginner level course that focuses on giving newcomers to the processes of Six Sigma a solid base from which to build upon. This course is a stepping stone for any individual who wants to get started quickly and gain a good understanding of the rationale behind why these techniques work the way they do.

What you will learn:

“Lean” is a Japanese approach to management that focuses on cutting out waste whilst ensuring quality. This approach can be applied to all aspects of a business – from design, production, to distribution.

These days, as its extensive toolkit has been expanded and customised for a wider range of application, Lean is applied in any industry but not only in manufacturing.

Six Sigma, also called 6σ or sigma, is a common strategic approach that focuses on identifying order and simplifying business operations. While other quality management programs target defects at a broad level, Six Sigma measures defects at a granular degree and thus helps in reducing these defects.

The combination, Lean Six Sigma is where you will pick up the skills in some of the most applicable lean & Six Sigma tools, techniques & concepts. For example, Introduction to Lean Six Sigma, 5S, Design of Experiment (DOE), Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen and much more.
