This class is designed for the sewist interested in making their first quilt. Class will cover: piecing together the quilt top, basting, quilting options, and how to install a binding. Students will use the pattern Fireside by Suzy Quilts and have the option to make a baby or throw sized quilt.

Skill level:
Novice. Students should be comfortable on a sewing machine and be able to thread and wind a bobbin on their own.
What you'll need:
As part of our COVID protocol and trying to limit the use of shared tools, all students will be required to bring their own scissors, pins, marking pens, rotary cutter & mat (if using). Students are welcome to use our sewing machines & irons/ironing boards. If you'd like to bring your own machine, please let us know prior to class.

Have you always wanted to knit? Now’s your chance! In this two part class series (October 16 & 23) you will learn how to cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch and bind off. These skills will get you moving on your knitting journey and prepare you for all the amazing things you could make!
In this 2-part class you'll learn basic quilt piecing and finishing terminology and techniques. The class fee includes the use of one of our classroom machines, so leave your machine at home!
You've pieced it. You've quilted it (or someone has). Now you're ready to finish this puppy!! Come learn how to make binding and bind a sample quilt using your sewing machine (as well as some hand stitching) and have it turn out beautifully!
If you prefer a lesson by yourself, we can book a private lesson, and private rates apply. Classes are for both crochet or knitting, depending on the student's needs. We schedule "Beginner" classes on a rolling basis rather than wait for a specific day in a month.
This class will cover the basics of making a patchwork block. In this class will cover choosing fabrics, notions, and techniques for making patchwork blocks. You should be comfortable with sewing on a machine and using a rotary cutter.
