We will begin by learning how the sewing machine works and how to thread it then move on to making a drawstring bag, a lined tote bag, a lined pouch with a zip and a patchwork cushion. If you've got the sewing bag after the classes you can then book an Improvers Sewing Course and learn dressmaking and how to make more complex bags & patchwork.
I know life is busy so you don't have to commit to the same day or time each week as it's only the two of us. I have a visor, plenty of disinfectant and a system for quarantining equipment to keep us safe.
Jo has been creating and making since she was a child, packing a bag to go and stay with her Grandparents for the weekend - in went felt, glue, needle and thread, cardboard, not the usual teddy, toothbrush and clean undies!
Some earliest memories are of her Mum at the sewing machine making a beautiful nightie with matching dressing gown or with her knitting needles in her hands. Jo's fondest memory is such a clear picture of the incredible Starsky & Hutch style cardigan she knitted for her Dad!
Come along with a simple item or garment you are currently making, adjusting or starting and that need help with. This is a continuous running class which you can book week to week where you can choose what you want to make and Pat will assist you making. Not suitable for beginners dressmaking.
