Overview:
This sewing course will allow you to understand how a machine works so you can start creating your own projects! Our very first project will be making a small pouch with a zipper! On the second class, we will start working on a personal project which we will select together.
We will show you how a sewing pattern works and go over the fundamentals of pattern adjustments. The remaining classes will be dedicated to transferring your pattern, cutting your fabric and sewing your project!
The objectives of this course are to enable you to learn the basic vocabulary, sewing techniques and pattern fundamentals you need to become a bit more autonomous... It will be a pleasure for us to assist you in the discovery of the wonderful world of sewing!
Tools and Materials:
You will have access to all the tools we have at the studio during classes. No need to bring anything! Tutorial '' Learn to Sew '', fabrics and accessories included. We have many fabrics available but you might have to buy your own fabric in order to make your personal project if you can't find anything you like at the studio.

The quickest way to start sewing. Learn the basics of a sewing machine Work with simple and basic stitches and get familiar with the fabric. Build and practice your skills by completing four small projects that build upon one another
Bring your sewing machine and Katherine will teach you the skills you need to create an apron, a microwaveable potholder bowl, a placemat with a cutlery pocket, and a tea towel hanger. This class is for kids aged 9 to 15.
This open format course is the perfect introduction to sewing for any beginner kids and a great place for advance beginners to continue to grow their skills.
In this series of lecture and lab sessions students will learn about the fashion industry techniques used in garment sewing. Participants will be introduced to the industrial sewing machine and serger and build a reference book of samples using industry standard construction techniques.
Let’s get them started young. (Kids are fearless anyhow). This is a great introductory class for kids aged 7 and up to learn how to sew, press and finish a project.
