In order to apply for a SAPS competency and License to own a firearm, you must complete the training for Legal (Knowledge of the firearms control Act) and Basic Unit Standard (Handle and Use of a “Firearm”) in the specific firearm you would like to own and license. This course is usually run over 3 days. Assessment will take place at the end of the course. An ability to communicate in English at the level of NQF 3 (Standard 8) is required. Copies of evidence of this must be submitted on booking this course.
Handle and Use of a Rifle training is offered by Eyabantu Safety & Security Academy. The courses are presented theoretically at our accredited centre followed by practical shoot at Ihawu indoor shooting range.
Firearms Safety training is offered by The Edge Shooting Academy.“The Edge” is an Elite Training provider and is registered with SASSETA and SAPFTC. We offer unit standard based training as well as specialized training programs.
Firearm Training is offered by Brainwave Training Academy. Our programmes are practical in nature and certification is only awarded once the delegate has demonstrated competence in the application of the outcomes and submission of his/her portfolio of evidence.
Firearms training is offered by The Calibre. Firearm training in all calibers and units from basic level, business level and REG21. Seating of 15 learners at a time and Well equipped classroom.
