In order to apply for a SAPS competency and License to own a firearm, you must complete the training for Legal (Knowledge of the firearms control Act) and Basic Unit Standard (Handle and Use of a “Firearm”) in the specific firearm you would like to own and license. Handle and use a Handgun course is offered by Shooting Shack. Shooting Shack is an Indoor Shooting Range based in Durban, KZN. We catering for all self defence, sport shooting and firearm enthusiasts.
In addition to the accredited unit standards offered, we also offer a host of more advanced training that specifically deals with using firearms in defensive environments.
Course options are between 3 – 18 weeks, this includes a 1 hour live fire class once a week either on a Wednesday, Friday or Saturday. You also work with me during the week via Whatsapp on dry fire training as discussed in class. Coaching continues for the entire course.
