Throughout the course you will study a variety of units which include:
Listening and talking with a young child
Forest schools
Safeguarding
Health & safety
Growth & Development of young children
Supporting babies to play
Your learning experience
An individual learning plan will be designed for your needs. You are assigned a Personal Tutor and a Progress Tutor who specifically look after your pastoral and course requirements.
The course also includes guest speakers and educational visits which are linked to the units. You would take part in events within the department and have the opportunity to enter competitions.

Early Years courses provide broad based learning around the physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs of babies and children of all ages preparing you for a variety of career pathways with the sector. Entry qualifications
Level 1 (Foundation)
3 GCSEs grade 1 or above.
You will be interviewed for this course, should be enthusiastic about working in the Early Years sector and have a genuine interest in the subject, good communication skills and are able to participate in work experience.

You will be assessed through a variety of assessment methods including discussions, displays, case studies, presentations, written work and practical assessments.

This part time adult course provides learners with the basic understanding of the health and social care and early years fields. Students will be given assignments in each unit which will cover the outcomes for that unit.
This practical, interactive course will give parents and child carers the knowledge, skills and confidence to take action in a first aid emergency involving a baby or child. All learners receive access to our online book.
