Course Overview

This is a hands-on and theoretical course where you will learn the basic skills to prepare you for a career as a bricklayer in the construction industry. It’s designed for students who have a desire and ambition to become a tradesperson in the construction industry.

The course is designed to help you progress your training within a practical environment that also includes written assignments. Our expert tutors, who’ll expect you to be self-motivated and keen to achieve, will teach you subjects including: It allows candidates to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in Bricklaying. It covers the following skills:

• Carrying out Blocklaying activities

• Carrying out Bricklaying activities

• Carrying out Cavity Walling activities

• Contribute to Setting Out and Building of Masonry Structures up to Damp Proof Course

• Principles of Building Construction, Information and Communication

• Understanding Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction

There’ll be a mix of hands-on work and written projects, followed by practical synoptic tests and a theory online test for each unit. With this course you’ll be taking an important step forward in the next stage of your career as a bricklayer in the construction industry and gaining the talents employers are keen to employ. This course is a Study Programme which consists of:
