Anyone wishing to embark on a career as a Security Officer needs to be licenced by the SIA (Security Industry Authority). We provide the 4-day nationally approved course which enables individuals to gain the necessary qualification to become licenced.
This qualification applies to those working within retail (store detection, loss prevention), commercial, leisure, reception, gatehouse duties, mobile patrol and alarm response security officers. This is not for work in the licensed trade, for this you would need to complete the Door Supervisor qualification.
Entry Requirements – all candidates must hold a First Aid or Emergency First Aid qualification that meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, that is valid for at least another 12 months from the start of training course. A copy of your certificate must be provided to us before attending the course.
Each learner must be sufficiently competent in the use of the English language. Please see our policy attached and contact us if you have any concerns.

What support material is available?
To assist you during the course you will be provided with a course workbook which will include the three required modules. The books are provided prior to the course.
How is it assessed?
Working in the Private Security Industry, Working as a Security Officer and Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry, are assessed by multiple choice examinations.
All exam questions are produced and marked by the awarding body.
This qualification, which is worth 4 credits at Level 2, is approved by the SIA.
