This one-day course will give anyone working in the food industry a firm grasp of the importance of food safety and knowledge of the systems involved. They will gain the confidence and expertise to deliver quality food safely to customers.
Emphasis is placed on the role of the food handler within a food safety management system, and the identification of hazards, controls, record keeping and reporting procedures are integral to the programme.

At the end of the course candidates sit a 30-question multiple-choice test, which may be conducted orally or as a written test. To be awarded the certificate, candidates must get at least 20 marks.
