The level 3 award is a short introductory course which prepares new entrants for teaching in the lifelong learning sector. If teaching, tutoring, or training is part of your remit, you may be required to progress to a further qualification appropriate to your role.
The first 8 weeks of the course can be attended either onsite at our Warrington campus or via remote access. The remaining weeks all students must attend our Warrington campus.

What will I learn?
The qualification covers the knowledge and skills required by teachers in the further education and skills sector, such as:
Unit 301 - The roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
Unit 302 - Inclusive teaching and learning approaches
Unit 305 - Understanding assessment in education & training
You will be assessed through a variety of methods including practical and theoretical assignments. A 20-minute micro teach assessment is also required as part of the course.
What will the course lead on to?
Successful completion of this course allows for progression on to the Level 4 Education and Training or the Level 5 Education and Training (subject to meeting additional entry criteria).

What are the entry requirements?
The are no specific entry requirements, however it is recommended that you have a minimum of a level 3 qualification in your chosen teaching subject and ideally hold a level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (further guidance can be provided on enquiry) for progression. You are not required to have access to teaching hours for the Level 3 Education and Training course.

This course is accredited by City and Guilds, Training Qualifications UK, Active IQ, Pearson, and Ocr. It covers the knowledge and understanding required by the Further Education National Training Organisation (FENTO) or the Employment National Training Organisation (EMPNTO) occupational standards.
This introductory qualification is for trainee teachers who are just starting out in teaching/training, not in teaching/training currently or perhaps working as assessors and wish to develop their teaching skills.
