The Pearson BTEC Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an introductory teaching qualification. Achieving this Award will provide sufficient evidence that the learner has acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to prepare, plan, deliver and evaluate basic teaching and learning sessions, in a variety of teaching or training contexts. This introductory, knowledge-based teaching qualification has no minimum teaching practice requirement.
This qualification is suitable for those wanting to start their career in vocational teaching. This award is a great introduction to teaching and support progression to Level 4 & Level 5 teaching qualifications This course may be undertaken by individuals who are not in a teaching role. Brooklands College opened in 1951 (formerly Brooklands Technical College) and has grown steadily over the years, building on the college’s established expertise and developing our provision to meet the constantly changing demands of the local, regional and national economies.
In 2016 we opened our Ashford Campus to focus on a selection of full-time courses, as well as offering part-time courses in ESOL, Computing and English and Maths skills for adults.
The college has been awarded ‘Good’ by Ofsted following the recent December 2023 inspection, highlighting the many areas of strength including how “learners benefit from a calm and studious environment in which they learn well”. The vast majority of the classroom based learning takes place on the main campus at Weybridge with over 1,600 students engaged in study programmes.
