Course Details

All new or unqualified teachers who work with adult learners will need to achieve this qualification, in order to work towards Associate or Qualified Teacher Learning & Skills status (ATLS/QTLS).

Contents/Units

  • Role, responsibilities and boundaries of teachers

  • Understand teaching and learning approaches

  • Session planning skills

  • How to deliver inclusive sessions which motivate learners

  • Understand the use of different assessment methods, and the need for record keeping

Assessment .

The assessment of this qualification can be tailored to specific learner requirements but typically candidates are assessed on evidence generated by written assignments, micro teaching, assessment and reflective practices.
