The Level 3 Award in Education and Training in Wakefield (formerly known as the PTLLS course) is an introductory qualification in to the teaching sector and can be taken by individuals with no prior experience in teaching and training, however applicants should have prior qualifications and/or experience in the subject that they wish to teach once they passed the qualification.
The Qualification Is Suitable For People Who:
Are not currently in or have just started a teaching role
Want a training qualification in order to teach or train adults
Want to train colleagues in the workplace
Teach on a one-to-one basis or give private tuition
Need a nationally recognised qualification in teaching and training
Are existing trainers that require the qualification
The course is split in to three units – Unit 1 is Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training; Unit 2 is Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training in Wakefield; and Unit 3 is Understanding assessment in education and training in Wakefield.
Once you have completed all three units (including the micro teach session as part of Unit 2) to the expected standard then you will receive your certificate, and you will be ready to start in the teaching and training sector!
We typically carry out this training at your venue across 2 to 4 days (exact length of time is dependant on the number of delegates in attendance) however we can also offer this training via distance learning – please see below for details. Our instructors come with many years of experience in training and can tailor the course to suit the individual learning requirements of the delegates.
The distance learning option for the course is done at your own pace with support & guidance from your mentor. All necessary materials will be sent to you once you book the course. Once you book this course, you will be given up to 12 weeks to complete the assignments.
Within the 12 weeks, you need to come in for 1 day Micro-teach and assessment at a training venue or we can arrange your session to be done via Skype (alternate options are available). For the micro teach you will need to deliver the presentation in front of a handful of people and record the session for the instructor to review.
