The Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Special Educational Needs is aimed at professionals working in education or carrying out a caring role in nursery nursing, teaching assistance, childcare or play work, and are looking to develop knowledge and understanding of Special Educational Needs to progress within the sector as part of a new or existing role.
How will I be assessed?
All work is assignment based
How much home study will I have to do?
You will need to study for approximately 6 hours per week at home
Entry Criteria:
All students are required to complete an initial assessment. This allows us to ensure you are studying towards the correct level and understand how best to support you.
How will I be taught?
You will be taught by experienced, qualified staff. Learning will be tailored to your specific need and pace of learning. You will receive support and individual attention, within groups that are friendly and relaxed.
Expectations
We expect you to aim for 100% attendance and attendance is recorded for every timetabled session. Students are automatically withdrawn if they have not attended for 4 consecutive weeks and have not made contact with the college. If a student’s attendance falls below 90% their place on the course will be at risk.
We place considerable emphasis on excellent attendance and punctuality and ask you to respect and adhere to these values to ensure academic success. Any health concerns will be treated sympathetically and if necessary we will consider implementing the college’s Fitness to Study Policy.
