The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (CET) was previously called CTLLS and is suitable for existing and new teachers wishing to enhance their knowledge and skills. The course is specifically designed to help prepare trainee instructors to teach in a wide range of contexts.
This course is accredited by City and Guilds, Training Qualifications UK, Active IQ, Pearson, and Ocr. It covers the knowledge and understanding required by the Further Education National Training Organisation (FENTO) or the Employment National Training Organisation (EMPNTO) occupational standards.
This introductory qualification is for trainee teachers who are just starting out in teaching/training, not in teaching/training currently or perhaps working as assessors and wish to develop their teaching skills.
Learners will spend the first 4 weeks completing a free separate short course (20 hours) in Developing Thinking Skills. This will allow learners to gain essential skills and to provide an overview of what to expect when working in schools. Successful learners then progress to the main course.
