You’ll benefit from guidance and mentorship from employees and past students who work in the industry. Learners will study UK visitor attractions, sustainable and responsible tourism, the UK conference and event industry, tour guiding as well as resort reps, cruise, travel agency operations.
Learners will also be given the opportunity to work with and volunteer for local tourist boards, assisting with events in the local area. This helps learners to gain work experience in local tourism, hospitality and event organisations.

Printing and photocopying (including colour printing) is available in the LRC. A limited number of print copies are available free of charge, after which printing is available at a discounted rate. A college ID card is required to use these facilities.
Study Areas
The LRC has rooms and spaces available for silent study, tutorial and dedicated Access and Higher Education Study Rooms.
Compulsory units on the programme are Customer Service, Hospitality within Travel and Tourism, UK airports and Airlines, Careers within Travel and Tourism and Travel Agencies Work experience will be carried out over two weeks and will be undertaken in local travel/hospitality related businesses.
The Travel and Tourism sector continues to grow at a rapid pace, with the amount of travel undertaken by individuals for both leisure and business purposes continuing to rise.
Communicating effectively with passengers.
The course combines well with a wide range of subjects and supports potential career routes into cruise operations, travel agency, tourism management, resort rep jobs and cabin crew, as well as enhancing your general knowledge of destinations and travel habits.
On this programme you will also learn about worldwide travel destinations tour operators' products and services package holidays special interest holidays independent travel promotions and sales in travel and tourism conferences and events.
