Our Level 3 T Level in Education and Childcare enables you to gain valuable knowledge and experience of children from birth to 7 years. On completion you can explore a number of career pathways such as working in primary education, early childhood studies or other related programmes.
What will I learn
Our Education and Childcare T Level will help to develop your understanding and prepare you for a career in the education or childcare sector. During the theory and knowledge element of your course, you will gain an understanding of all aspects of a role as an early years educator or assisting teaching depending on the specialism you choose.
You will learn and develop your skills by using a range of exciting and innovative teaching and learning methods including projects, presentations, displays and innovative use of virtual reality to bring your curriculum experience alive.
You will also undertake a high quality,structured and outcomes-focused industry placement, this is an integral part of the new T Level programme. The industry placement will be aligned to your career aspirations identified in yourcareer plan which will be 750 hours and could include up to two employers.
How will I learn
You will learn through a range of formats including lectures and assignments, group work, work placements, demonstrations and guest speakers.

Resources are available and can be borrowed (some for use in the LRC only), and training is available in a range of related information skills to enable you to use resources effectively. Printing and photocopying (including colour printing) is available in the LRC. You will receive termly print credits, which can be topped up at a discount rate at the LRC. A college ID card is required to use these facilities.

At Redcar & Cleveland College we care about our student’s wellbeing and fitness. That is why we have a brand new state of the art fitness suite on site with the all the equipment students need to help live a healthy lifestyle.
The college also has Level 3 Personal Trainers, which as part of their course, can offer fitness and nutritional advice and can also plan workout regimes to help students stay in shape.
