Course Overview

A management focused course that will assess occupational competence. The Level 5 Diploma enables learners to work in a management role within the Childcare sector. It is designed to guide and assess the development of knowledge and skills relating Children’s Care Learning and Development including those relating to leading teams and managing resources within Children & Young Peoples’ settings.

Who Is This Course For?

Managers and Assistant Managers who work with children and early years (and their families) in settings or services whose main purpose is children’s care, learning and development including: Crèche, Out of school settings and Day Nurseries.

Learning Outcomes

To qualify learners must complete 12 Mandatory Units, and choose a selection of Optional Units that may compliment their career pathway.

To give you an understanding of what you will be learning on this course, topics and module units include:

  • Support children’s care, learning and development in the early years

  • Understand children and young person’s development

  • Lead practice that support positive outcomes for child and young person development
