Course Details

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and understand the relevant workplace health and safety legislation, standards and codes of practice.
  • Identify the hazards related to operating a non-slewing mobile crane (greater than 3 tonnes capacity), assess the risks and put effective hazard prevention or control measures into place.
  • Identify and use appropriate communication methods.
  • Determine the weight of the load.
  • Understand the features and capabilities of the non-slewing mobile crane (greater than 3 tonnes capacity).
  • Carry out pre and post start checks and report faults.
  • Operate the non-slewing mobile crane (greater than 3 tonnes capacity) safely to the full range if its capacity.
  • Shift loads safely ensuring structural stability.
  • Respond to unsafe conditions.
  • Shut down and secure the non-slewing mobile crane (greater than 3 tonnes capacity).

 

A person performing this work is required to hold a High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) for Non-Slew Mobile Crane (CN) or be enrolled in the course through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and under the supervision of a HRWL holder.


Outcomes:

  • This course is national recognised (accredited)
  • Participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment upon successful completion of the unit of competency.
  • Successful participants will also receive an AS1 (Assessment Summary Form), which is required to apply for your High Risk Work Licence with Workplace Health and Safety Queensland. Applications for High Risk Work Licences must be made within 60 days of
