Become equipped to work as a rigger and enter highly in-demand rigging work with our full basic rigging course in Sydney.FHV Driver Training covers rigging training both practically and theoretically, to give you a deep understanding of rigging to become a safe and responsible operator and successfully gain your rigging license or ticket in Sydney.Courses run the week after dogging on most weeks choose a date to the right before applying.Hurry limited places per date.

This unit specifies the outcomes required to perform basic rigging work associated with movement of plant and equipment, steel erections, hoists (including mast climbing hoists), placement of pre-cast concrete, safety nets and static lines, perimeter safety screens and shutters; and cantilever crane loading platforms for licensing purposes.

 

Course Outcomes

By undertaking this course, participants will gain the skills and knowledge required to obtain a WorkCover Licence. Upon successful completion of learning activities, participants will progress to assessment by a WorkCover assessor for their licensing test.

On completion of the riggers course, participants will be able to competently move, place and secure loads with mechanical load shifting equipment and therefore attain your riggers ticket in Sydney.Participants will receive training in the following skills and knowledge areas;

  • Job planning

  • Selecting and inspecting equipment

  • Setting up tasks

  • Erecting and dismantling structures and plant

  • Hazard and risk management

 

Pre-requisites And Entry Requirements

  • ‘CPCCLDG3001A Licence to perform dogging’ must be completed and evidence of this must be provided before entry into this course.

  • Candidates must be 18 years and over to participate in this course.

  • Persons wishing to undertake this course need to have the physical capacity to carry out the work safely.

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills are also required for successful completion.

  • To enter the course, participants must also wear steel capped boots, long pants and safety shirt or vest.

 

RPL

RPL / RCC (recognition) is available to participants who can provide evidence of competency for the units undertaken. However, participants will still need to undertake the WorkCover assessment process.

 

Pathways And Career

Upon successful completion of this unit of competency, you will have the skills and knowledge to work, or gain employment as a Rigger on worksites in areas such as the building industry, heavy construction industry, marine environments, and on high rise building sites.

 

Getting Your Rigging licence

After completing your rigger training and successfully passing your assessment, you will be eligible to fill out a form with SafeWork to gain your rigging license or ticket.After completion of this course, participants may also wish to enrol in a Licence to perform rigging intermediate (CPCCLRG3002A) course.
