Course Details

Our forklift truck training covers the functions required to operate a forklift truck and (if competent) apply for a high-risk work licence.

This forklift license course course is for beginners as well as experienced operators. Our experienced high risk work trainers work with participants to ensure they are confident and competent in operating a forklift truck.

Assessment will include knowledge, calculation and practical testing. Full details of assessment requirements will be provided on the first day of the course.

Australian Vocational Training has the following entry requirements:

  • All students must be over 18 years of age.
  • Students must reside in Victoria, or, if they are not a Victorian resident, have a valid reason for applying for their forklift licence in Victoria.
  • Participants are required to have general good health and fitness. Any pre-existing medical conditions that will affect the training must be disclosed prior to attending.
  • For the LF forklift Licence Course, trainees must have adequate English language skills to safely complete tasks relating to forklifts, such as being able to:
  • Read and correctly interpret safe work method statements, forklift specifications and data plates
  • Complete paperwork such as risk assessments and logbook entries
  • Calculate load weights and ensure safe working loads aren’t exceeded
  • Speak English clearly
  • Explain, describe and verify sometimes complex needs and issues
