Pirates Lifesaving Club is situated at Battery Beach, Durban, South Africa.
Established in 1928, PLC has a wonderfully rich history, intriguing stories and is currently one of the top Lifesaving Clubs in South Africa. Training, lifeguarding and the Sport of Lifesaving have been part of the club since its inception.
At Pirates Lifesaving Club there is a place for everyone.
Our priority is manning Battery Beach and Dunes Beach, keeping our bathers safe. Ongoing training is offered to ensure the proficiency of our Lifeguards.
Our Nippers, Juniors, Seniors and Masters compete annually in local, national and international competitions. Lifesaving Training is offered 5 times a week for juniors and seniors, while nippers train twice a week.
This is a mandatory course to qualify as an Open Water Scuba Instructor. This course provides the training required to teach the Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid) and Care for Children Courses.
At False Bay, we pride ourselves on being a club that is always at the top of our game. Hence, our training sessions aim to keep our lifeguards both in good shape for the voluntary duty season and fit and conditioned for the competitive aspect of lifesaving.

These are interactive water safety skills development and out reach programs which cater for children of all ages. The programs are very flexible and can be presented in either a classroom, swimming pool, open water or ocean environments.
