After learning ASL expressive and receptive skills, students will further their language development by focusing on English reading and writing skills. Lecture hours will be comprised of a variety of activities in a variety of learning environments.

Located on traditional lands referred to as Treaty 6 territory, we serve 21,162 learners. This translates to 12,112 full-time and part-time credit students, and 9,050 non-credit or continuing education students, including assessment examinations.
As a regional steward, we provide access to adult education in Edmonton and the surrounding region. Our services reach from Drayton Valley in the southwest, to Whitecourt in the northwest, and to Wetaskiwin in the southeast, encompassing 26 communities. This course will enable you to express basic vocabulary in ASL through body movement, gestures, facial expressions, finger spelling and basic signs
During this workshop participants will learn how to sign the alphabet, colors, numbers, animals, foods and basic self-help skills to use with young children.
Level One is for beginning students, and includes the alphabet, numbers, meet and greet,
This course is an introduction of grammatical structures with emphasis on vocabulary and comprehension skills.
Our American Sign Language Basics course is intended for those with no knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and is an introduction to Deaf culture and the Deaf community.
