Factory Fashion is an inclusive fashion design workshop and sewing school for all ages dedicated to building your skills and making it fun. Emerging from the art collective group, Factory Five Five.
Factory Fashion continues the mission of community enrichment through fashion and textile design instruction. We are intent on disrupting the status quo, lifting innovation, creativity, and understanding to the forefront.
The first step in learning how to sew is learning how to use the sewing machine. We teach on any make and model of machine. Our goal is for our students to be comfortable on their sewing machine so they can sew better! This class will be limited to one student.
Beginner sewers will grasp essential sewing skills such as seams, stitches, fabric selection, and basic garment construction. Beginner sewers will grasp essential sewing skills such as seams, stitches, fabric selection, and basic garment construction.
Learn how to drape a fabric on a dress from, make patter out of the drape fabric and construct into a garment.
With this introductory pattern-making class, you will learn the how to measure and map the lower body to create a skirt template or sloper that is custom fit to your figure! The final sloper can be used in turn to create patterns for an endless variety of styles of skirts.
Join us for some fun sewing projects. If you are a returning student, you will be able to choose your own project.
