This course will provide authorized workers with the knowledge to follow the step-by-step procedures for isolating equipment during maintenance and services using such techniques as lock-out tag-out, lockbox, blinding, disconnect and misalign, double block and bleed, and single valve isolation.
Students will learn how to detect hazardous conditions and implement control measures as they relate to the control of hazardous energy, written isolation procedures, training for authorized and affected employees, and periodic inspection of energy control procedures.
The training course emphasizes each employee’s responsibilities during those procedures using practice exercises and simulations.
