All Administration Support Staff
This training will be provided to staff as part of the new Employee Orientation Training within 2 weeks of hire.
Training will include:
An overview of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the requirements of the customer service standard
Safety training Ottawas’ accessible customer service plan
How to interact and communicate with people with various types of disabilities
How to interact with people with disabilities who use an assistive device or require the assistance of a service animal or a support person
What to do if a person with a disability is having difficulty in accessing Safety Training Ottawas’ goods and services
Staff will also be trained when changes are made to our accessible customer service plan.
The Occupational Health and Safety Awareness and Training Regulation (O. Reg. 297/13) requires employers to ensure that workers on construction projects successfully complete a working at heights training program if they may use specified methods of fall protection.
Low, Medium & High Angle Rescue course is offered by DSC Safety Services.
Students will learn the principles of pollution prevention, waste minimization, recycling, landfill operation, incineration, and composting. They will also study the basic concepts of environmental management systems and environmental audits.
This course provides students a basic understanding of excavator operation, maintenance and load handling. It will also cover relevant federal and provincial legislative requirements applicable to the workplace.
Developed by Enbridge and Union Gas, the course covers natural gas awareness, legislative requirements, connection of heaters to the gas meter and safe operating procedures for natural gas construction heaters up to 400,000 BTU's.
This safety training course is designed to meet Part 5 of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act.
