This workshop is designed for participants who have little or no working knowledge of how to perform a proper lock-out/tag-out procedure. It is also designed to be a refresher course for more experienced workers.
Whether you are performing routine maintenance, repairing or inspecting machinery, you may be required to de-energize equipment by performing a standard lock-out/tag-out procedure.
This workshop is designed for participants who have little or no working knowledge of how to perform a proper lock-out/tag-out procedure.
It is also designed to be a refresher course for more experienced workers. Participants must successfully complete and pass this course to receive their record of training (ROT).
Who Should Attend:
Supervisors and individuals who are required to perform a lock-out/tag-out procedure to de-energize a piece of equipment or machinery.
What You Will Learn:
Upon the successful completion of this safety training program, participants will understand:
The legislative requirements (Government Regulations, CSA Standards and Manufacturers’ Guidelines and Principles);
The duties and responsibilities of all workplace stakeholders;
The principles of a lock-out/tag-out system;
Steps that need to be taken to insure a proper lock-out/tag-out;
Different types of energy sources.
After This Workshop You Will Be Able To:
Determine how to locate energy sources;
Recognize the importance of pre-shift inspections;
Make the proper use of a written checklist;
Determine what safeguards must be put in place to ensure safety;
Use the proper procedure for restarting work/re-energizing equipment.
