Develop an understanding of the purpose and importance of Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Generate learner knowledge regarding LOTO procedures and employee responsibilities.
Prepare workers with the knowledge necessary for effective and safety-conscious decision making.
Course Outline:
Describe the need for the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) process
Identify the general responsibilities of groups of workers in the LOTO process
Summarize the 4 steps of the LOTO process
Recognize the purpose of each step of the LOTO process
Recognize procedures for responding to unexpected situations
Explain the procedure for returning to normal operations

In this course you will learn how to fulfill your role as a supervisor and about your your responsibilities under the Ontario law to manage health and safety in the workplace – while still being productive!
The course format has been developed to be a highly interactive program utilizing facilitated presentation, along with exercises to reinforce the learning process. During the class the students will work individually and in groups on exercises and case studies.
Our 12-week program sets you up to earn an apprenticeship as a Heavy Equipment Operator Technician, under guidelines set by the BC Industry Training Authority.
